The Canada Media Fund (CMF) released its annual report “Future Focused,” which shows that its investments in Canada’s screen-based industries unlocked $1.7 billion in industry activity during the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
The company will invest $10.7 million in 20 projects led by minority producers and allocate more than $3.9 million to 25 additional projects through two of its interactive digital media partnerships.
The incentive supports the co-development of fiction and animation television projects, animated feature films, and digital media projects, as well as the co-production of digital media projects.
The three projects selected for funding by the Canada-Germany digital media incentive are "An Empty Seat," "Wildermage: The Magic of Here," and "dA.I.ting: Internet of Flings."
The Canada Media Fund, the Conseil régional Nouvelle Aquitaine and the Conseil départemental de la Charente announced a new incentive to fund the co-development and co-production of virtual and augmented reality projects.
